Eric Anton Leaves Brookfield for HFF

Just months after Ron Solarz left Brookfield Financial to return to Eastern Consolidated, his former partner Eric Anton has joined the investment sales team in HFF’s New York office.

Mr. Anton started his new role on Monday as a senior managing director, according to The Real Deal, which first reported the move.

“Eric is joining HFF New York at a time when its presence in the market is at a historic high,” said Andrew Scandalios, a senior managing director and the co-head of HFF’s New York office, in a prepared statement. “The addition of Eric Anton will help us significantly, towards our goal of growing market share in New York.”

Messrs. Solarz and Anton joined Brookfield Financial from Eastern Consolidated in September 2011 but the pair split this April when Mr. Solarz announced his return to Eastern. The partnership ended on good terms, Mr. Solarz told Commercial Observer.

“Brookfield’s a great company and Eric has been a great friend and great partner for a long time but the punch line is it’s a better move for me, there’s nothing negative about it,” he said.
