reprintsWeeplay Kids has signed a lease for its office in the Garment District, Commercial Observer has learned.
The portfolio of childrenswear, which includes brands like Woolrich and Hello Kitty, will take a 13,400-square-foot space at the Thor Equities-owned 25 West 39th Street.
The lease will span the entire floor of the building and Weeplay will join notable tenants like Polo Ralph Lauren, Movado and Seven for All Mankind, among several others in the building.
“25 West 39th Street is the ideal location for Weeplay Kids which develops unique and growing brands in the children’s wear market,” said Joseph Sitt, chief executive officer of Thor Equities, in a prepared statement. “Office space of this caliber is rare to find in Midtown Manhattan and it offers Weeplay the presence it requires in the competitive marketplace.”
David Levy and Brett Maslin of Adams & Company represented the tenant in the transaction. Thor Equities’ vice president of office leasing Adam Rappaport represented the firm in-house, marking his first transaction since joining the firm last month.
“When I joined Thor, I knew their impressive portfolio provided for great potential for office leasing,” said Mr. Rappaport of his recent hiring and the lease transaction. “I am excited that Weeplay Kids chose 25 West 39th Street for their showroom and I look forward to utilizing our extensive portfolio to continue to attract world-class tenants.”
Availability in the building is tight with only 13,400 square feet vacant.
