Jones Day inked a 330,000-square-foot lease at 4 Brookfield Place in a major relocation deal for the Midtown-based global law firm.

The 20-year lease will bring the tenant to the 27th through 34th floors of Brookfield Office Properties‘s 1.8-million-square-foot Financial District property, which is emerging from a lobby renovation and $250 million retail and common area makeover.

Bank of America/Merrill Lynch leased the 34-story building through October. Jones Day will move there from 222 East 41st Street.

Lois Weiss of the New York Post reported that Mitchell Steir, Matt Barlow and David Goldstein of Studley represented the tenant. Jerry Larkin and David Cheiken represented the landlord in-house.

The new Entry Hall Pavilion at Brookfield Place (formerly the World Financial Center) opened late last month. Also last month, the Institute of Culinary Education announced a 71,000-square-foot lease at the property. The complex’s ambitious repositioning will also bring a flurry of food vendors and a market in a bid to echo Mario Batali‘s Eataly in the Flatiron District.
