Christian Louboutin, the woman’s footwear designer best known for his distinctive red soles, is planning to open a men’s store on Washington Street, according to reports.
The store will be Christian Louboutin’s second of four men’s stores the designer intends to have open by the end of this year. He opened a Paris store last fall, and will be opening new stores in Los Angeles and London sometime before December.
The new Washington Street space will be designed by Eric Clough of 212 Box, according to a person familiar with the new space.
A press representative for the designer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
When opened, the men’s store will be Christian Louboutin’s second in the Meatpacking District. The designer has a 1,035 square foot storefront at 95 Horatio Street, where it is paying $250-per-square-foot, according to CoStar.
Asking rents for the 808 Washington Street space is believed to be in the $250-to-$300-a-square-foot range.
