There are many aspects of Florida décor we hope will stay there: pink flamingos and coconut goblets, to name just a couple. But posh Miami-based interior designer Tui Lifestyle seems destined to find a warm welcome even in colder climes.
High-society favorite Tui Pranich, whose clients include the Setai Hotel Residences, started his turnkey design company 25 years ago. The new location at 136 Greene Street will be his first store in New York.
“We looked at so many people for this location,” Faith Hope Consolo of Prudential Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group told The Commercial Observer. Mr. Pranich, she said, “fits so well with the New York lifestyle, where you have to have it now, have it in a minute.”
Indeed, the company’s designs can be ready in two to three days, which is conveniently before most Manhattanites have time to change their minds.
The location offers more than 7,500 square feet of selling space that is divided into smaller spaces, a perfect fit for a design company. It will also have some swanky neighbors, including Moss, Paul Smith, B&B Italia, Hugo Boss, Armani Casa and Louis Vuitton.
The asking rent was $1 million a year, and “that’s what we got,” said Ms. Consolo. “I expect I will be taking them across the country,” she added.
Ms. Consolo represented the landlord along with Joseph Aquino of Douglas Elliman. New York Commercial Real Estate Services represented the tenant.
