The Georgetown Company

The Georgetown Company is a privately held real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Manhattan. Founded in 1979 by Marshall Rose, who is now it’s chairman, the company was led as of 2021 by CEO Adam Flatto, and has offices in Columbus, Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Its New York holdings as of 2021 include 787 Seventh Avenue, a repositioned property on the Far West Side that was formerly the home of the Packard Motor Company, and the IAC Building at 555 West 18th Street in Chelsea. Georgetown has also been planning a $1 billion office development just south of Hudson Yards, on a parking lot it has owned since the 1960s.

The company’s national holdings include the Easton Town Center in Columbus, an early model of the outdoor shopping center and the brainchild of L Brands’ Leslie Wexner, and an office building at 370 L’Enfant Promenade in Washington, D.C.

Georgetown is known for its repositioning of iconic properties and often works alongside local partners in those projects. That includes its redevelopment of the historic Herald Examiner Building in Downtown Los Angeles, and a $280 million redevelopment of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s studio site in Culver City.

In 2020, Georgetown began a two-phase office redevelopment in Atlanta, where the company will convert the former Gold Kist headquarters into creative office in partnership with RocaPoint Partners.
