The third annual New Yorkie Runway will be hosted on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at the pet-friendly New Yorker Hotel. The doggy runway show is celebrated during the week of New York Fashion Week and the Westminster Dog Show.
The runway show will be hosted by Miss USA, Alyssa Campanella, who had previously walked in the show last year. Several other celebrities will gown their puppies in New Yorkie couture and walk the runway, including Cat Greenleaf from NBC’s Talk Stoop, Eden Wood of Toddlers & Tiaras, and reality stars from Million Dollar Listing, Millionaire MatchMatcher, and the Real Housewives of New York.
The runway show was initially a venture by Elly McGuire, founder of New Yorkie Runway and designer of New Yorkie Products, to raise money for the Angel on a Leash. The foundation helps train therapy dogs that visit hospitals to visit patients and those in need.
The Commercial Observer had initially printed that the New Yorkie Runway will be on Wednesday, February 6th. That date is wrong and the event will be on Thursday, February 7th, as noted above.
