Hollywood Gym to Open First NYC Location, Already Looking to Expand

Brick, a CrossFit gym, has signed a 10-year lease for just over 13,000 square feet at 257 West 17th Street, Steve Rappaport, senior managing director at Sinvin Real Estate, who represented the tenant, told The Commercial Observer.

Asking rents were $75 per square foot based on the 7,200-square-foot ground floor. The lease also includes 5,900 square feet on the building’s lower level. The space was formerly a D’Agostino’s supermarket.

The Chelsea location will be the fitness chain’s first in New York. Currently, Brick operates a gym in West Hollywood, Calif. Read More

Lovely Bridal Shop Waltzes into TriBeCa With 10-Year Lease

Here comes the Lovely Bridal Shop after signing a 10-year lease at 182 Duane Street in TriBeCa.

The 2,500-square foot ground floor space, between Hudson and Greenwich Streets, features an additional 2,000-square-foot lower level.  A small backyard patio sits behind the all-glass doors that line the rear of the lower space, giving the shop a tucked-away, oasis-like feel that the owners sought, brokers involved with the deal said.

“This space just blew them away,” said Ross Kaplan, with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, who represented the tenant with Kate Cohen.  “When they walked in the door they fell in love.  It was just what they were looking for because it’s got a great feel to it, very clean-looking, with great ceiling heights.” Read More

Italian luxury goods store Mariana Antinori will be opening up a new its first New York City location at 1244 Madison Avenue, The Commercial Observer has learned.

The store –which will sell custom jewelry, timepieces, and womenswear and menswear– will be moving into a 755-square-foot space that was formerly occupied by Seigo, a purveyor of bespoke ties and bow ties.
