Elliman Wins Soho Retail Building Leasing Assignment

Douglas Elliman retail pros Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino have been hired to lease the standalone Soho building that was once home to Tommy Hilfiger‘s headquarters, Commercial Observer has learned. The asking rent for the single-tenant building is $2.25 million.

The 11,520-square-foot elevator building at 372 West Broadway, at the corner of Broome Street, spans three floors and includes a lower level selling floor and a rooftop garden. There is 112 feet of frontage along West Broadway. Read More

Infinite Beauty is getting ready to break into the New York City market with its first Manhattan location, Commercial Observer has learned.

“They are to skincare what Sephora is to cosmetics,” Douglas Elliman broker Faith Hope Consolo told CO on the last day of the International Council of Shopping CentersRECon. She along with colleague Joseph Aquino represented the tenant as well as the landlord, Marolda Properties, Inc., in the 1,800-square-foot lease deal at 1031 Third Avenue at the corner of 61st Street. YSB Salon has signed a 10-year lease at 2520 Frederick Douglass Boulevard, between 134th and 135th Streets in Central Harlem, Commercial Observer has learned.

The lease includes 550 square feet of space on the ground floor and 450 square feet on the lower level. The tenant, a full-service hair and beauty salon, will pay rent in the mid-$80s per square foot. Read More

Douglas Elliman is marketing the 1,409-square-foot retail space at 412 Columbus Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned. The firm’s leasing and sales team of Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino has been awarded the exclusive agency for the space, the duo’s third assignment on the block.

“We are redoing the entire block front,” Ms. Consolo said. “For a long time the Upper West Side was about sneakers and sweatpants. Now, it’s lululemon and lipstick.” Read More

In a rebuke to the chain retailer invasion of the Upper West Side, the upstart designer (and Alexander Wang protege) Boyoung Kim has signed a 700-square-foot lease at 410 Columbus Avenue for her first dedicated New York boutique.

The Commercial Observer has learned that Douglas Elliman retail group Chairman Faith Hope Consolo and Executive Vice President Joseph Aquino represented the landlord, Orleans Realty, LLC in the transaction. It follows a lease signed by jeweler Alexis Bittar in the adjacent space earlier this year. Read More

Douglas Elliman Retail Team Brings More Sunshine to Harlem

Members of Douglas Elliman’s retail group have secured a new 1,750-square-foot location and 10-year lease for Sunshine Day Care at 1325 Fifth Avenue, between 111th and 112th Streets in Harlem, The Commercial Observer has learned.

It is an expansion of their program, which opened three years ago directly across the street at 1330 Fifth Avenue, where the group occupies an additional 5,000 square feet.  In addition, a three-year extension of that lease has been arranged.

“The expansion of this well-respected day care provider speaks volumes about the demand for quality neighborhood services,” said Faith Hope Consolo, who represented the tenant and the landlord, Tahl Propp Equities, with Joseph Aquino and Arthur Maglio. “Having introduced them to Harlem a few years ago, we are thrilled to see the tremendous amount of success they are having at this location.” Read More

Retail leasing at 410 Columbus Avenue will undergo a new strategy now that ownership has selected Douglas Elliman’s Faith Hope Consolo and Joseph Aquino to market over 600 square feet of space currently occupied by Berkley Girl. The current tenant’s lease expires in June, according to Ms. Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman’s Retail Group.

Douglas Elliman previously leased an adjacent space at the address to jeweler Alexis Bittar. Asking rent is approximately $300 per square foot.

“We are trying to bring a different type of retailer to the Upper West Side,” Ms. Consolo told The Commercial Observer. “We are trying to bring a little bit of Madison Avenue to the Upper West Side.” Read More

The progressive children’s medical facility Tribeca Pediatrics has signed a 10-year, 2,500-square-foot lease at 2111 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem.

It will be the organization’s 10th New York City facility. Tribeca Pediatrics also has a location in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Douglas Elliman Markets Fifth Avenue Stores Vacated By Arden B., Mesa Grill

Douglas Elliman Retail Group Chairman Faith Hope Consolo and Executive Vice President Joseph Aquino are marketing the adjacent retail spaces at 102 and 104 Fifth Avenue in the Flatiron District.

The 4,000-square-foot 102 Fifth Avenue will soon be vacated by Mesa Grill, celebrity chef Bobby Flay‘s 22-year-old Southwestern restaurant, whose possible closure Zagat first reported nine months ago. The 150-seat restaurant was due to shutter today, but the landlord gave it a 90- to 120-day extension.

The women’s clothing and accessories chain Arden B. already closed at the 2,200-square-foot 104 Fifth Avenue. Combined, the stores have 60 feet of frontage.

“Right now we’ve got a half-dozen offers and we haven’t said yes to anybody,” Mr. Aquino said. “A couple of restaurants want to take Mesa Grill, another two want to take all of both spaces for retail and another two are interested in the former Arden B.” Read More
