Drybar Will Be Offering Blowouts at Brookfield Place

Drybar has inked a 10-year lease next to Babesta, the trendy baby boutique, at Brookfield Place, Brookfield Office Properties told Commercial Observer. The salon, with its $40 blowouts, is slated to open in the fall.

The California-based blowout specialist has taken 1,498 square feet on the second floor at the Lower Manhattan complex, Brookfield said. The rent was around $120 per square foot, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. Drybar has 42 locations open nationwide with eight of them in New York City and more on the way. Read More

Drybar Continues Manhattan Takeover With New Lease at 270 Madison

Drybar, the “blow dry bar” that began in Los Angeles and has since spread throughout Manhattan, is opening another salon, Commercial Observer has learned.

The company has signed a lease for 3,050 square feet at 270 Madison Avenue between East 39th and East 40th Streets, only blocks from Grand Central Terminal, according to a press release issued by ABS Partners Real Estate, which helped broker the deal. Asking rents in the 14-year lease were $125 per square foot. Drybar, which already has eight locations in Manhattan, is expected to open at the property this summer. Read More

European Wax Center Joins List Of Beauty Tenants At 222 East 34th Street

The personal grooming chain European Wax Center inked a 10-year lease on a 1,900-square-foot-store at 222 East 34th Street in the newly developed residential building The Anthem, The Commercial Observer has learned.

Other tenants to recently sign at the Murray Hill building include the local gym empire Crunch and Drybar, a salon capitalizing on the current craze for blowouts, making the 25-story, 480-unit The Anthem a one-stop shopping destination for personal improvement.

“Blow Dry Bar” Drybar Opens at 222 East 34th Street

Drybar, a California-based chain of “blow dry bars” that offer blowouts for $40, has signed a long-term lease to open at 222 East 34th Street, The Commercial Observer has learned .

The blow dry bar (we’re debating calling it a “salon saloon”) will be taking a 1,900-square-foot space in the “The Anthem,” the newly constructed 25-story residential tower on 222 East 34th Street. This will be Drybar’s third location in the city. It already has two stores in the Flatiron District and inside Le Parker Meridien Hotel.  Read More
