Court recording and legal services firm David Feldman Worldwide will expand from a subleased space at the Kaufman Organization‘s 450 Seventh Avenue through a five-year, 6,550-square-foot lease on the fifth floor of the building that’s one block north of Madison Square Garden between West 34th Street and West 35th Street, Commercial Observer has learned.

The landlords will accommodate the move by combining the company’s current 4,077-square-foot space with an adjacent unit at the building where asking rents run in the $50s. Legacy Builders Takes Space at 519 Eighth Avenue

The Kaufman Organization’s building at 519 Eighth Avenue is now 100-percent occupied after Legacy Builders inked an 11-year lease for 9,020 square feet at the property, Barbara Raskob, leasing director at Kaufman, told The Commercial Observer.  Asking rents were $34 per square foot.

The tenant, a contractor, will renovate the space to include offices and conference rooms, according to Ms. Raskob. “They needed more space than what they had,” she said. “They wanted the ability to build their own space, since it will serve as a sort of showroom for them.”

The building at 519 Eighth Avenue totals 355,000 square feet over 26 floors and was completed in 1927. The typical floor size is 16,000 square feet, according to the Kaufman Organization. Read More

The New York Real Estate Institute has locked up its own real estate for another eight years after it re-signed its lease to expand to 7,986 square feet at 132 West 36th Street.

NYREI, which offers courses in continuing education for a variety of real estate topics, will be expanding by an additional 1,470 square feet in its new lease. NYREI will now have the entire second floor in the 12-story building.

Steven Kaufman and Barbara Raskob of the Kaufman Organization represented both the landlord and the tenant in the lease deal.  The property is owned by Kaufman Arcade Associates, according to CoStar data.

Fort Street Studios, a bespoke carpet company that weaves fine silk carpets for clients like Hermes and Louis Vuitton, is moving from its Soho offices to 22 West 19th Street.

The company, which was founded by artists Janis Provisor and Brad Davis, is moving from its old offices on 578 Broadway to a 8,100 square foot space on the 5th floor of the Flatiron area building, which is managed by the Kaufman Organization. Fort Street Studios signed a 10-year lease in the deal, with an asking rent in the high $30s-a-square-foot.
