British Tech Firm Signs Lease in Midtown East

Cloud-based business software provider NewVoice Media will transition in the first quarter of 2015 into a permanent New York City office that’s three times the Hampshire, England-based company’s temporary space, Commercial Observer has learned.

The company signed a five-year, 6,487-square-foot lease to move to the 16th floor of TIAA-CREF’s 685 Third Avenue between East 43rd and East 44th Streets from an approximately 2,000-square-foot interim space, officials with Avison Young said. Read More

Nonprofit Inks Lease for Subleased Space

The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit that provides research grants to scholars and artists, signed a 16-year, 13,878-square-foot lease in space it has occupied as a subtenant for nearly 50 years in Midtown East, EVO Real Estate Group announced earlier this week.

The nonprofit inked the direct lease with Vornado Realty Trust for the entire 33rd floor of the building at 90 Park Avenue where asking rents run for $85 per square foot, EVO officials said. The organization will relocate temporarily for new renovations and occupy the revamped space between East 39th and East 40th Streets in April 2015, Arnold Gamberg, an executive vice president at EVO, told Crain’s New York Business, which first reported the deal. FactSet Research Systems, which provides analytics and content to the financial industry, has consolidated its space and renewed its lease at 90 Park Avenue between 39th and 40th Streets.

The financial data firm will now have 102,000 square feet spanning the entire 7th, 10th and 11th floors of the 1 million-square-foot tower, according to Crain’s, rather than be spread throughout the building. Read More
