Vocativ, a digital media company that “explores the deep Web to discover original stories, hidden perspectives, emerging trends and unheard voices from around the world,” will expand its headquarters to roughly 19,500 square feet at 462 Seventh Avenue.

According to a press release issued by the Kaufman Organization, the landlord of the property that sits between West 35th and West 36th Streets, Vocativ has signed a 10-year lease on the entire fourth and fifth floors. PEX Card, a corporate prepaid card company that helps regulate employee spending, has signed a five-year, 7,200-square-foot lease at the Kaufman Organization’s 462 Seventh Avenue between West 35th and West 36th Streets.

“The full-floor space at 462 Seventh Avenue allows PEX Card to expand its operations and provides it with the flexibility to accommodate future growth,” said Jared Sternberg of the Kaufman Organization in prepared remarks. “The central Garment District location is easily accessible via a number of public transportation hubs, which enables the company to strengthen client relationships while establishing new ones.” Read More

Nonprofit Investor Signs Garment District Lease

Nonprofit seed investor Echoing Green will move its headquarters one block east under a 10-year,  9,750-square-foot lease for the 13th floor of S.I.K. Associates‘ building under the Kaufman Organization‘s portfolio at 462 Seventh Avenue between West 35th and 36th Streets  in the Garment District, the Wall Street Journal reported this morning.

The socially-conscious firm will move from its current home at 494 Eighth Avenue to the 23-story structure with a renovated lobby and Hale and Hearty Soups and Starbucks on the ground floor, a 185,000-square-foot building where office asking rents run in the high $40s per square foot, said Steve Kaufman, president of the Kaufman Organization. Telecom Company Signs Lease at 462 Seventh Avenue

Granite Telecommunications has signed a 10-year, 9,750-square-foot lease at 462 Seventh Avenue, Commercial Observer has learned. Asking rent for the space was $48 per square foot.

“Granite Telecommunications were in search for a customizable space in a central location, with easy access to mass transportation hubs. 462 Seventh Avenue affords executives the opportunity to recruit top talent from the Tri-State area,” said Barbara Raskob of the Kaufman Organization, who represented the landlord, in a prepared statement. EVO Real Estate Group President Dana Moskowitz wants his input on the color scheme for the company’s new offices. He says Ms. Moskowitz has better taste than him, but she wants him to weigh in on the color scheme anyway. He is her father after all.

EVO Moving to Bigger Digs on West 40th Street

Come the end of April, EVO Real Estate Group will be operating out of bigger offices on the southeast corner of 40th Street and Broadway, in a move out of what was Winoker Realty‘s offices. The company is currently picking out its carpet and base molding colors.

The new 13,350-square-foot space, spanning the entire 20th floor of 1430 Broadway, was selected for a number of reasons. One is that EVO CEO Ira Fishman knew the building, having worked in it while at Newmark Knight Frank (which merged with Grubb and Ellis in 2012 and became Newmark Grubb Knight Frank) from 1994 to 1997. Real estate law firm Konner Teitelbaum & Gallagher P.C. has renewed its lease for 9,750 square feet of space at 462 Seventh Avenue, it was announced earlier this week.

The company, which has been in the building for the past 10 years, will have its office repainted and carpeted. Asking rent in the 10-year lease renewal ranged between the high $30s to the low $40s per-square-foot.
