Vocativ, a digital media company that “explores the deep Web to discover original stories, hidden perspectives, emerging trends and unheard voices from around the world,” will expand its headquarters to roughly 19,500 square feet at 462 Seventh Avenue.

According to a press release issued by the Kaufman Organization, the landlord of the property that sits between West 35th and West 36th Streets, Vocativ has signed a 10-year lease on the entire fourth and fifth floors. The company moved into the building in 2013, with 7,200 square feet on the 20th floor.

“Vocativ’s decision-makers were immediately drawn to the potential of the expansive spaces at 462 Seventh Avenue—the dual floors will nurture the company’s growing operation and can accommodate future growth,” said Steven Kaufman, the president of the Kaufman Organization, in prepared remarks. “Vocativ has a strong vision for the look and functionality of the space and will have a hand in directing the interior installation process.”

Asking rents for the new space were in the high-$40s per square foot.

Mr. Kaufman, along with colleagues Barbara Raskob and Yvonne Chang, represented the landlord in-house.

Stuart Romanoff of Cushman & Wakefield represented Vocativ. Neither Cushman & Wakefield nor Vocativ immediately responded to a request for comment.

Built in 1925, the property at 462 Seventh Avenue is 23 stories and has 185,000 square feet of space. Other tenants include Infinity Consulting Solutions, SNAP Interactive, Echoing Green and Granite Telecommunications.
