The John Barrett Salon, known as the go-to establishment for the ladies who lunch at Bergdorf Goodman, has expanded its midtown presence, having signed a 16,000-square-foot lease at 10 West 56th Street.

Women who depend on the John Barrett Salon for their weekly blowouts should rest assured it will keep its location at the penthouse of Bergdorf’s. But according to the New York Post, which first reported the story, the salon has taken the entire mansion on the corner of Fifth Avenue owned by mega-mogul Carlos Slim for its new outpost.

This swath of Midtown is home to some of the world’s most iconic brands. Neighbors to the new salon will include Harry Winston, Tiffany, Henri Bendel, Prada and Elizabeth Arden.

MHP Real Estate’s Roxana Girand represented the owner in the transaction. CBRE’s Annette Healey and Alden Alexander represented the owner. The Post noted the rent will be $1.5 million per year.

“We were charged with staying as close to Bergdorf’s as possible and fell in love with the romance of a mansion just one short block away,” said Ms. Healey via a spokesman.

MHP Real Estate did not immediately return a request for comment.

John Barrett has already expanded its footprint throughout Manhattan, with plans to open locations at 54 Bond Street and at the World Trade Center site. It also has a salon in Palm Beach.

The salon includes a “ponytail bar,” where a shampoo, blowdry and ponytail start at $125 and braiding and clip-in extensions start at $100.
