A remover of unsightly body hair is growing out fast in Manhattan.

European Wax Center signed two 10-year leases for locations on the Upper West Side, The Commercial Observer has learned. The tenant inked a 1,500-square-foot deal at 2409 Broadway and a 1,770-square-foot deal at 805 Columbus Avenue, in the Columbus Square mixed-use complex. Kelly Gedinsky and Charles Rapuano of Winick Realty Group  represented the tenant in both transactions.  The pair, with Winick’s Lori Shabtai, also repped ownership in the Columbus Square deal. Jason Pruger and Ross Kaplan of NGKF represented the landlord in the Broadway deal.

“We feel that the Upper West Side is pretty covered for the time being,” Ms. Gedinsky said of the tenant, which currently operates a salon at 314 Columbus Avenue. Additional locations can be found at 315 West 57th Street, 82 University Place, 222 East 34th Street and 1577 First Avenue. EWC also has two birds in the bush out in Queens, with an Astoria and Forest Hills branch. Hal Shapiro of Winick heads leasing for the franchised tenant downtown.

The brokers would not disclose asking rents at Columbus Square, but said that the 2409 Broadway lease’s hovered around $225 per square foot. Both leases come with a 10-year option. They added that the Upper East Side currently presents a compelling opportunity for future expansion.

“We need to fill that void,” Ms. Gedinsky said. She and Mr. Rapuano are working with EWC to secure an East Side location above 59th Street.
