Real estate industry professionals mingled with top technology leaders in New York City after business hours to share information and spark conversation.
Technology group CRE/Tech Intersect gathered 40 top technology firms in Manhattan during an October meeting to discuss the impact of technology in the commercial real estate industry. The special event gave guests an opportunity to eat, drink and chat with panelists and industry insiders in between presentations and demonstrations by exhibitors at the three-hour event.
Attention to the technology industry has increased since Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced several tech initiatives in the city, including free Wi-Fi offerings in business districts populated with commercial real estate across the five boroughs.
Innovative technology and its growth in commercial real estate was the theme among the event’s guest speakers. The event had more than 275 attendees and 40 exhibiting technology firms. Technology panelists included Doug Curry of Xceligent, Justin Bedecarre of 42Floors, Michael Mandel of CompStak and William Skelley of iFunding.
CRE/Tech Intersect creates a networking platform in top technology cities to connect angel investors, venture capitalists and CRE professionals. The group previously held a June event in San Francisco. Plans for 2014 events are ongoing by the group.
