ATT-sfSpanInternet speeds for AT&T’s customers in select markets can now reach 45 Mbps downstream and 6 Mbps upstream. AT&T’s latest improvements are a part of the company’s three-year investment to enhance its IP broadband networks. The investment will include more than $20 billion per year over three years.

Little Rock, Ark.; Austin, Texas; and Oklahoma City are among the long list of cities where AT&T has increased its connectivity.

The company also launched a 100 percent fiber Internet Broadband Network in Austin. Speeds for the AT&T U-Verse with GigaPower can reach up to 1 Gigabit per second. The service is expected to launch with other expanded services in December.

In spite of the expanded list of AT&T’s service, it did not announce plans for future speed upgrades or fiber in the New York market. In recent years, AT&T has improved its service for wireless and its U-verse television service in upstate New York and the New York City metro area. There is no announcement about when AT&T will increase its speeds for customers in the New York metro area market.
