Three major New York unions are supporting a proposed Major League Soccer stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens. As reported by DNAinfo, the Hotel Trades Council, the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York and 32BJ SEIU support the plan which would create approximately 2,300 construction jobs.
Note: A previous version of this story stated unions had backed a stadium plan for the New York Cosmos of the North American Soccer League at Belmont Park in Nassau County. The MLS plan and the Cosmos proposal are separate and unrelated to one another. The Commercial Observer regrets the error.
