The building at 885 Third Avenue, affectionately referred to as the Lipstick Building because of its cylindrical shape, was designed by famed architect Philip Johnson, who’s having a retrospective in the very Lipstick Building lobby he helped design with John Burgee. Earlier this month, meanwhile, Crain’s New York reported, fabulously, on the people, such as architect Ronnette Riley, who owns some 3,500 models of New York’s most famous assets, like the Lipstick Building.
