Amazon, the leading internet retailer, has expanded its office space in SL Green's 1350 Avenue of the Americas.

The company originally opened shop in SL Green's 420 Lexington Building, also known as the Graybar Building after its original tenant, with a 2,900 square foot space. Amazon operated out of there until 2009 when it moved to a 10,000 square foot office in 1350 Avenue of the Americas.

Since the move, Amazon has been aggressively expanding, spreading to multiple floors within the building.

"They occupy the entire fifth and sixth floor and part of the eleventh and nineteenth," said Gary Rosen, a senior managing director at SL Green Leasing LLC. "They just leased the entire eighth floor and will be starting construction shortly. All of their space totals 92,492 square feet."

The entire eighth floor spans 24,707 square feet.

"The space [will be built] to Amazon's high standards," Mr. Rosen continued. "Open space, with creative conference rooms, pantries and shared areas. The installations are very appealing."

Mr. Rosen was joined his his colleague and an executive vice president, Howard Tenenbaum, in representing SL Green in-house. Justin Halpern and Marcus Reyner of Cresa Partners represented the tenant. Mr. Revner and Mr. Halpern did not respond for comment.

Asking rents in the building range from $65 to $85 per square foot. As of now, the 35-story, 589,560 square foot building is close to being fully occupied. The three available spaces, spanning a total 20,000 square feet, are on the seventh, seventeenth, and thirtieth floors.
