Zucker's Bagels & Smoked Fish is opening its second location in Sherwood Equities' 370 Lexington Avenue.

Zucker's is a Chamber Street favorite, but will soon be taking the 1,700 retail space on the ground floor at the corner of the Lexington Avenue and 42nd Street. The lease will also include 800 square foot of underground storage area, bringing the total amount to 2,500 square feet.

"The space has high ceilings and has a great presence on the front of the building on Lexington Avenue," Adam Weissleder, a senior leasing agent at Sherwood Equities, noted on the deal.

In addition to Mr. Weissleder, Fred Rosenberg and Jill Burrowes of Sherwood Equities brokered the deal for the landlord. Warren Newcorn of Newcorn Realty Co. represented the tenant and did not return for comment.

Zucker's bagels serve hand-rolled, kettle-boiled made on the premise bagels with a variety of cream cheeses. Deli sandwiches and options are available as well as freshly ground and brewed coffee from Philadelphia-based La Colombe Torrefaction. The shop will include seating for about thirty people and wifi.

"They wanted to be in Midtown so they could grow their business and expand their corporate catering business," Mr. Weissleder further noted. "They felt that the Grand Central market was the ideal location to achieve those goals."

Sherwood Equities is a privately held real estate development company with a portfolio in excess of $2.5 billion dollars. Their notable projects and properties include 2 Times Square, 1600 Broadway, 1 Times Square, the Saratoga, and, of course, 370 Lexington Avenue.
