16east60th Doctors Jonesing for 100K Feet

Columbia Doctors Eastside, the well-regarded, Columbia Presbyterian-affiliated practice that’s been housed at or near East 60th Street and Madison Avenue for 25 years, is thinking of moving shop. To that end, the good doctors have hired brokerage Newmark Knight Frank to hunt for about 100,000 square feet of medical office space, according to industry sources.

Right now, the practice, which includes CAPNA, the first private practice run entirely by nurse practitioners, and Columbia’s Headache Center, among others, is housed at Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation’s 650 Madison Avenue, with its own entrance at 16 East 60th Street. For doctors who admit patients to Columbia’s hospital in Washington Heights, the current location presents something of a hike.

The practice’s brokers at Newmark declined to comment, as did the practice’s spokesman. Old news reports indicate that Columbia Eastside has been in the neighborhood since 1982.
